We retired from the military from a different state and therefore had to travel to look at homes in the area we wanted to live. My wife and I have done some cockamamie, foolish, and rediculous things in our 15 years together. Top of that list is as follows. 19 days ago we arrived in Wilmington for the first time. We took a walk down the river walk and drove through a few neighborhoods to gain a feeling of the town, checked out the beach, toured the battleship. We had been trying to figure out where to buy after selling all our stuff over a year ago and setting off on some travels. Contenders included Portland Maine, Newport VA, etc...Less than 24 hours later we are both like, here? Yeah. Here. Feels right.Scroll Zillow, find cutest house (my wife is impossibly better at Zillow than you can imagine). Click the blue button. About ten minutes later my phone rings, it's Anthony. He asks a few questions and lines up the showing. Plus one more, you know... Just in case they used the fisheye lens in the house and the rooms are actually 95% smaller than they look in the photos. Same day, Anthony meets us at the property. We open the front door and we're sold. We go see the other house, it seals the deal on the first... They used the FFFFFisheye lens! Boooooooooooooooooooooo!Anthony asks when we want to close, we say "Yesterday." We make an offer, perhaps one that smells like new money. It's public record now, see for yourself. This is a Friday afternoon. They have showings lined up all weekend. Anthony calls the seller's agent, informs her how much we love the house. Shakes some new money under her nose. And boom! Offer accepted, showings cancelled. (You're welcome new neighbors!)Hard part's over, next we start the hard part: due diligence. Ordering surveys, home inspections, lining up all the lending details, a closing attorney, etc... Closing was scheduled for 18 days out. I have to work the whole time, we cannot be in Wilmington for one minute in the time we had for DD.So Anthony handled it all for us. He lined up the home inspections, met the inspector there, walked through with him, talked about the findings, and relayed us the details. He did this with every single appointment.He ran this transaction from start to finish, was immediately responsive, helped us negotiate our new money offer down a bit after the fact when the appraisal didn't come back as high as we needed. You'd be lucky to work with Nicole, seriously. She helped me to get my first home 3 years ago, and just now we closed on another house. She also helped my family with their real estate needs too and Nicole consistently delivers great experience and results every single time. Nicole is very responsive, knows the triangle area very well, any question I had she either had the answer right away or knew how and where to get the answer quick. During our home search she provided valuable information about properties that I didn't even know to ask about! I probably learned even more about real estate with Nicole now compared to when I got my first house. From the first time we spoke Chris was very knowledgeable and honest about the home buying process, especially for first time buyers like us. The first time we met he was upfront how the home we thought looked great in pictures was not worth it's listing price in person, something we would have not noticed as first time buyers. Chris was patient in helping find the home for us, was in contact at all times, and asked for feedback on homes to help guide us to the next best place to look at. Finally we found the home for us and he gave great advice as far as negotiation, which we needed, and got us our house including closing costs within our budget. Every other person or service we worked with throughout the entire process was a personal recommendation from Chris, without being pushy. From our mortgage broker, to our inspector, and finally closing lawyers, each of them being friendly and great to work with. I think the most impressive part was when our inspection showed 3 items that we wanted repaired before moving forward. The Seller offered us $250 cash to arrange the repairs ourselves. Chris took the time to research how much it would cost to repair these things (almost $1000!), countered with that information, and was able to get the seller to repair it all themselves! Malin provided us with such a great experience for our first home, we can't compliment her enough!She came recommended from our mortgage lender and now we understand why. Connie was very personable and eager to assist us as we relocated to NC from California. We first met her a year before our planned move. She spent two days with us helping us get to know the various areas we were interested in, and then stayed in contact throughout the following year. Once we arrived, despite recovering from a foot injury, Connie was very active in showing us potential homes.
